Prayer and Praise update: October 29th

We are blessed to have you as part of our prayer support!!

God has been extremely good to us, my thanks could never equal or even express what He has done for us. The summer went way beyond my wildest dreams. From the beginning of the summer up to now we have had more high school and college age students than ever come through the gates, both in regular attendance and in discipleship. We have averaged nearly 3 of all the students in this age bracket, this has never happened since we began the ministry many years ago. Many of these students were straight off the streets and very involved in the gang and drug culture. What a privilege to be able to share and live out Christ with them!!

I thank God for the privilege to share in word and testimony in several churches what God has been doing. If I could, I would personally thank each and every one of you who have prayed for me as I have preached at each of these churches. Both in Ohio and Michigan God gave great opportunities of which the Holy Spirit surely was present and worked. THANK YOU!! For those of you who did not know I had the privilege to preach and share in Michigan then just last weekend at a mission conference in Ohio of which I spoke 5 times at a Chinese church, no I do not know how to speak Chinese but I did my best in the English congregation. God was surely Good!!

The first rehab project is going very well. We would like to finish the first floor by the end of this week then hopefully the second by mid to late November. Renters are ready to move in. It was exciting to see people line up to rent the place. The whole process has been a great opportunity to mentor and disciple several young men. God is and continues to move among them.

Pray as we are going to have the opportunity to share God’s work here in the ministry among several people of importance in the city and of Moody Bible Institute. The city is securing a bus to come by several ministries; ours included, to see what is being done in the neighborhoods to stop the violence. We know that it is only the peace of God that can be secured by Jesus Christ alone that can accomplish that. The city fella that is leading this up is a Wheaton college student who my sister went to school with and we have kept up with each other on and off over the years. Be in prayer for this man, Vance, and the others involved in this. God’s work can shine and in doing so maybe even each ministry might have additional resources in reaching to the neighborhoods where the light is usually only on the crime.

Finally, continue to pray for us as we seek to do God’s work in an extremely challenging time and neighborhood. God is still God and He continues to do a mighty work!!

We thank you for your very consistent support both in prayer and resources; you are a very important part of our team!
