PRAYER AND PRAISE: May 8th

Good Afternoon

The past couple of weeks we have seen a constant increase in the warm days, the rain continues to fall regularly which of course greens things up nicely. Teams have been filling up each week of the summer. We currently have only four weeks left open. It is going to be a busy but good summer. We have a couple work teams and the rest are pretty much outreach with some work each morning. Please pray with us and each of the teams as we prepare for the summer. We want each individual to experience God in their individual lives and as a group in such ways that each will take away a closer and more vibrant walk with God. We would also like to have each individual leave with a desire to see urban ministry a part of their lives in some way or another.

Continue to pray as we reach out to each individual as they come to the ministry. God has given us a great number (almost 3) of those involved to be in high school or older. I do enjoy this group. I suppose they give the most heart ache, but they are also the most joy as you watch them make life time decisions for Jesus Christ. We need some regular help with the younger children and the girls. Pray that God will send volunteers to help in each of these groups.

As you have noticed I have tried to change the flavor of the prayer notes from activities of the street to activities of God. God has been doing so much that we would be in sin if we did not share of His goodness. Each and every day God does new things worthy of praise and testimony. Yet the other goes on. Regularly the devil does his best to disrupt, with shootings, drugs dealing and mayhem; only to have God step in with amazing freshness and firmness.

Often we the believer responds to God as Habakkuk did in saying; “the wicked surround the righteous so that justice goes forth perverted” only to have God respond; “I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told!”

Repeatedly we find and hear how God continually uses the ministry as a place of peace and a sanctuary away from the street. A place people can come to find God’s answers in the form of Christ; where the temptations of power and injustice are not acceptable; where the law is not paralyzed; where we find God’s principle of a place of refuge literally played out in every manner of the word.

Continue to pray that we will remain just that! We want to be where one can find direction to Christ both in word and practice.

Pray that God will supply our every need miraculously, beyond our wildest imagination.

Thanks for your prayers and Happy Mothers Day!
