Good Morning
We are praising God for such a great summer. HE has used you, your prayers, and your support. We have had many great teams serving with us here in the Englewood community of south Chicago. I don’t know who was blessed the most; the neighborhood youth, the visiting teams or us the ministry. Each time a team leaves, the neighborhood youth, including the high school and college young people ask if that particular team is coming back, then they ask who is next and when are they coming back. It is great to watch as God does great things in each life.
We have one more team for the summer. Then we begin to change gears. Our final group comes from a church in Indiana. Matter of fact, this group comes from one of Daniel’s sending churches. Daniel is on staff with us. He has served with us since he first visited back at age 16 when he came with a summer team. Daniel severed with us for a week when his church came, then he asked how he could become involved deeper and with more regularity. He now has a wife and a little girl a little over 6 months old. He has been asked to serve in South Korea as the English pastor, how exciting. This will probably take place within a year from now when he finishes up his graduate work at Wheaton College.
As you can see God does great work not only in the neighborhoods but in the groups that come to serve!
After this team leaves we begin to change gears. School starts for many of the year round schools August 10th. Then a couple weeks later the rest of the schools start. If you are interested we will be looking for school supplies to help many of the youth who can’t afford the basics, (notebooks, loose leaf paper, pencils and pens, and book bags). We still need your prayers deeply that we can finish strong. The group would love to be surrounded by prayer, we always need your prayers and the neighborhood is desperately in need of prayer as the summer winds down. By the way, thanks so much for your prayers concerning my nephew, Zachery. God used him in many ways impacting many youth. Many of the youth still ask about him or give us a story of his time here. Thanks also for your prayers concerning my daughters Mikayla and Katlyn, each have been blessed in their particular ministry here and have been a blessing! Finally, many of you remember my son Andre. He began full time classes at Robert Morris College. He received a huge scholarship for his first year. God truly blessed! Monday he and Garrett opened up the drop in part of the ministry for the first time by themselves as a team. From what I hear all went very well.
We have had many blessing! Thanks for your part in interceding before the throne in our behalf! The Holy Spirit has greatly moved!
