God is Good! Good Afternoon!

We have been extremely blessed over the past summer. God has sent some wonderful teams to serve alongside of us, and they continue to come! Each group has been a great blessing to serve with. We have seen many young people come to know the Lord. We have seen much work done throughout the neighborhood. We have seen team members go home on fire for God’s work in them, in their homes and on the urban mission field. We continually see many team members and full teams wanting to come back on a regular basis or even as a part of their lives. God has done a wonderful work in many peoples’ lives, not only in those that were being served and witnessed to but too many of those who were doing the serving and witnessing. Isn’t that the way it usually works. We go to serve and witness only to be served and witnessed to by God and those we came to. God loves to have the tables turned so that all grow and see Him at work in each life, both corporately and individually.

This weekend we have a group coming back. Would you pray for them? There are 18 men and women coming specifically to do work projects, there are quite a few very skilled individuals and a good number of labors (me) to help those more skilled. They will be arriving around 10 PM on Friday, putting a good long day of work in on Saturday, after the day of work we will spend some time with many of the neighborhood as they come by for basketball, play, discipleship, sharing of testimonies and faith in Christ as God opens doors, and a variety of other things, and then we will have a worship service on Sunday. There could be some finishing up some projects after the worship service then we will head downtown and challenge each to share their faith with those God would lead their way. It sounds and looks to be a great weekend of fellowship, work, sharing our faith and worship in all that is done.

If you are able come by and join us for part or all of the weekend, both in fellowship and work. We would love to have you join us!

Another specific prayer request we would like you to join us in… Last weekend one of our early board members died very un-expectantly of a massive heart attack. He was only in his forties and doing very well just days before when my daughter and I stopped by to talk with him. His family could sure use your prayers as they bury his body this weekend. He was extremely involved in many peoples’ lives, all of which he made an impact on for Jesus Christ.

Specifically he was helping us catch up with our federal non profit tax forms which I had no idea of how to fill out completely and turn in, specifically for 990. If you are able to or know someone who can help in this area we need you desperately to come alongside of us. I have all the financial records in order I just need an accountant or someone who knows not for profit business to give a couple hours of their time to help as our main help is now in heaven.

Here are the specific prayer requests and/or points of action:

1. The work team this weekend

a. Pray for them

b. Come join us for a day of fellowship, work and outreach

c. Help with a special gift to help with the cost of the materials we will use and also the materials of the summers past work projects

2. We need someone to give a couple hours of their time in helping with our non profit tax forms specifically the 990 form (end of the year income reporting form).
