Prayer and Praise update: September 19th

God is Good! Good Afternoon!

What a fantastic summer we have had! And to be honest, your faithful prayer over the summer has made much of this a reality. God has done some amazing things through each team that has come out. Lives have been changed and a lot of work has been accomplished. Relationships have been built based on Jesus Christ with the community seeing the light of Jesus in some very strong ways. God moved!!

Now that the summer is ending, school has started, and the teams have all gone home we have changed gears. On one hand many teams and individuals are talking, planning and praying how they can stay involved with the many young people they have met. They are seeking ways to stay involved in the ministry regularly (several have already come back). Many are even asking to be put back on the calendar next year. What a blessing!!

Yet the ministry continues on. We continue to open the yard and outside basketball courts for the young people each afternoon, staying open until around midnight many weekend evenings. We are watching as God continues to use the yard, the basketball courts, and our many conversations to bring people closer to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Many are growing steadily in their walk with Jesus. All are seeing the light of Jesus in ways that are very concrete in their lives. We are beginning a high school bible study for the teenagers and college age young people October 4th at 4PM. Two other bible studies will begin about the same time but during the week for the grade school boys and one for the girls.

We are finishing the first floor of the rehab project we have been working on. Many of the boys have learned how to plaster, sand and skim coat the walls. They are excited to learn new skills. We would like to finish the 2nd floor of the building by the end of October. Pray that God will send the right people to rent each place.

Finally, I will be speaking with a church in Michigan tomorrow and another one in Ohio during the weekend of October 23rd. Pray that God will speak mightily as I share in God’s word and what He is doing through the ministry.

Here are the specific prayer requests and/or points of action:

1. Speaking engagements – that God will speak mightily

2. That we will be able to finish the rehab project and have the right renters in

3. That the bible studies will go very well as they get started—that God’s word will go out with His light very evident

4. That each group and individual will have a clear idea of how to stay involved with the many relationships and the ministry as God would direct, and then again next year if they are moved to do so

5. And finally, that each individual that grew in Christ over the summer would be strengthened and continue to grow as the winter months come upon us

We want to praise God for the huge blessing of Sheila who has given us her time to help us make sure our books are all in order!

We thank you for your very consistent support both in prayer and resources; you are a very important part of our team!
